Hardanger* classes have returned to Fiddlesticks Too, with a new instructor, Hardanger enthusiast and expert Stephanie. Hardanger Ornament, third in a series, was a four session class that just ended on Sunday, October 30th. The class project was a small ornament/scissor fob/dohinky from the booklet Aroma en Azul by Mamen Arias (blog Hardanger Carpacar). Students selected a skein of Wildflowers and a complementary DMC 8 to complete the project on either 25 or 28 count evenweave. Instructions on how to make a tassel and cording to finish the project were provided by shop co-owner Pam. Shown here are just a few of the samples completed or in progress by students.
* Hardanger is not normally capitalized it does avoid autocorrect changing it to hard anger . . .
The next Hardanger class is scheduled for 2017. Starting January 26th, a pillow cover from the book Elegant Hardanger Embroidery by Yvette Stanton was selected as the class project. Another beginning Hardanger class is also being planned. In the meantime, stitch-ins for Hardanger enthusiasts are schedule for November 20th and December 11th, from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. Here are just some of the projects being worked on by regular attendees to the Hardanger focus stitch-in:
